Gowanus Lands is a community-led proposal to create a natural parkland for public use in the heart of Gowanus
On the west side of the Gowanus Canal between Huntington Street and 5th Street is a vacant, city-owned parcel of land.
A CLOSER LOOK
The site is about 6 acres in area and has been vacant for years. It's a former industrial site that is now owned by the City.
WHY NOT A PARK?
This site is a public asset, and City Hall will decide what to do with it. If enough people say they want a park, City Hall will listen!
WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of neighbors in Gowanus who would like the City to consider putting a park on the site. Please email us at if you're interested in getting involved. And please sign our petition below!

PLEASE HELP US WITH OUR PARK POLL FUNDRAISER!
We are raising $5k to commission a public opinion poll to assess community interest in creating a neighborhood park on Public Place. We will convey the results to local elected officials to help build support for the creation of a world-class neighborhood park on the site. Please help us by donating to the poll at our GoFundMe site - we are halfway to our goal and can make it with your support! Here is the link: https://www.gofundme.com/f/m4yq8
