GOWANUS LANDS
Gowanus Lands is a community-led proposal to create a natural parkland for public use in the heart of Gowanus
LOCATION
On the west side of the Gowanus Canal between Huntington Street and 5th Street is a vacant, city-owned parcel of land.
A CLOSER LOOK
The site is about 6 acres in area and has been vacant for years. It's a former industrial site that is now owned by the City.
WHY NOT A PARK?
This site is a public asset, and City Hall will decide what to do with it. If enough people say they want a park, City Hall will listen!
WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of neighbors in Gowanus who would like the City to consider putting a park on the site. Please email us at if you're interested in getting involved. And please sign our petition below!
